We still use that clock (less the outdoor temp) in the basement, but have replaced it with another, nothing but praise for this clock. We have had these clocks for years now and are replacing it only after the outdoor temperature sensor stopped working and we couldn't find another of the same frequency.
It functions on all levels, and I am thrilled that it is also a striking addition to my home. The Atomic clock is everything positive that is said about it.
Have not had to touch it since. I just had to set the time zone to central and i was done. I debated for 3 weeks on to buy or not to buy this atomic clock based on reading the reviews several times over here. I did buy it and the setup was quicker than I thought, put batteries in the sensor first and then the clock and about 10 minutes later the time set itself.
I can see the clock from 20 ft with no problem. The next morning, the time is automatically synced with the standard time. I did not touch the clock ever since and always got correct time. I bouhgt this clock about 2 weeks ago. Very happy with this product. Everything works fine except the time was not right because I did not set it. After placing in the battery, I set up the date and my time zone to PST and placed the remote temperature sensor outside. I placed the clock facing east from Los Angeles.
The atomic clock synch didn't synch during the first night but did the second day. YMMV.
Note batteries NOT included and outdoor sensor is NOT waterproof. Plan and test your mounting locations.
Just received the product a few days ago, set it up, mounted it and the outdoor temperature sensor. At night, it will depend on your room lighting but for me it was ok even with some small low mounted FL puck lights mounted on my computer desk facing down.
I mounted it hanging from under a porch. You need to follow the instructions on the battery insertion sequence: Sensor 1st, Clock 2nd.
I mounted the clock high up and it is still very readable during the day (all parts of the display - see photo).
